Description
These flashcards have been created by Bond to develop core vocabulary knowledge for Key Stage 2 SATs, the 11+ and Common Entrance. Deep and rich vocabularies continue to be sought in testing and these cards have been created to develop word knowledge and confidence to improve children's performance in tests and in communication more generally.
Bond Vocabulary Flashcards: Similar and Opposite Words build knowledge of synonyms and antonyms, enriching children's vocabularies and developing rich language skills. Each card provides a word, synonyms of that word and, on the reverse, the corresponding antonyms. However, it also covers any homonyms - such as entrance (e.g. a doorway) and entrance (to captivate) or minute (a measure of time) or minute (tiny) to illustrate the importance of context in understanding a word's meaning. Simple to use, these cards offer easily accessible vocabulary building practice and games for children seeking to develop their language skills both generally and for National Curriculum and selective school tests.
