These proceedings of the International Symposium on Fisheries Sustainability seek to support the development of a new vision for fisheries that are more sustainable and socially just, as well as more resilient to the challenges of the twenty-first century.
These proceedings of the International Symposium on Fisheries Sustainability seek to support the development of a new vision for fisheries that are more sustainable and socially just, as well as more resilient to the challenges of the twenty-first century. Some cross-cutting messages and recommendations that emerged - of relevance to both inland and marine capture fisheries - include the need to: integrate fisheries into broader planning and governance frameworks; develop joint integrated biodiversity and food security objectives; and build capacity, in particular for data collection and analysis.
